October 23 - Fun at the Fair

Every Tuesday on our way to Choir Rehearsal we pass the AZ State Fairgrounds. For the past couple of weeks we've watched them set up Ferris wheels, seen the advertising, and seen everyone else go to the fair. The girls both said, "We have to go to the fair, Mom. We've never even been on a real Ferris wheel." So, suckers that we are, we gave in and spent Friday afternoon at the AZ State Fair. Scott and I had last gone shortly after we moved here in 1997. I think we agreed that while it was a fun afternoon, we're good on fairs for another 12 years. The girls had a very fun time and rode on many rides.

Of course, the first was the Ferris wheel. I have to admit, I was kind of pleased when Elyse said she'd rather watch. I happily volunteered to watch Scott and Carolyn go on it too.

Coming from North Dakota and being a former 4-H girl, I was interested in the exhibits and animals. I had to drag my family through the exhibit hall (only one...). We were amazed at the quilting and I enjoyed the scrapbook exhibits. We found a cow to milk too. That is something this farm girl never did!
