On November 1st we toured the Biltmore house. It was amazing!!!It had about 236 rooms,63 bathrooms and 4 different kitchen's.My favorite room was the banquet hall. Here are some other rooms smoking room, swimming room, bowling alley Halloween room, music room. There were many other rooms but I can't name them all. The guy who lived there was named George Vanderbilt and he married Edith Vanderbilt. In their time the husband and wife normally slept in different rooms and beds.Edith's room had golden and blue thread. Her bedspread was blue and gold her curtains were blue and gold even her carpet was blue and gold.George's room was mostly red.He had a special staircase that went right to the book hall.People sometimes asked 'Are there any secret passages?'There was one.In fact it wasn't even a passage way at all.It was just a crawl space.George's grand children would play hide n seek. They had one rule they had to stay on the same floor. There were 4 floors in all.I wish we could have taken pictures but they wouldn't let us so I'm sorry.
I am starting to think we need to take a trip to Ashville!
