Most of you probably know that typically, at home, I am up at 4:30 a.m. and off to the gym most mornings. I love to get out and do some exercise to start my day . So here at the resort I found that a group meets for a morning walk. I have been very happy to sleep in until 7:00 and meet them at 7:30 a.m. Yesterday - I believe for my benefit - we walked along the golf course to the 16th green and it was pointed out to me (duh - read the sign!) that this is where a scene from Dirty Dancing had been filmed. Now I had heard that much of the movie was filmed in this area - in fact, there was a memorial service nearby for Patrick Swayze shortly after he died. So on yesterday's walk, this is what I saw. Now I have to go back home and watch the movie and see what I recognize! The "locals" leading the walk said it was a scene where they girl is asking for money for something...I have to go back and watch the movie. It's been years! The fountain, so I learned on my walk, was not there for the movie. It was added later.
This is a blog/journal about the Mielke Family in Arizona. Mainly we want to share our travel adventures and some of the hopefully not too mundane happenings of our every day lives. We hope you will enjoy it.
