I have been away from The Homeland long enough that every now and then I really enjoy seeing snow...playing in the snow...having a snowball fight...building a snowman...and then am very happy to know that it will reach almost 60 degrees today and it will all melt away. Add that to the fact that I know someone else will be shoveling the sidewalks and dealing with the slush on the road...and that tomorrow I will be back in the desert and I won't get to see snow for another year, most likely. I have to say, it did create a feeling of coziness and warmth last night: watching the snow fall, hearing other kids playing outside in the falling snow and we stayed inside playing games around the table in front of the fire. Sort of felt like Christmas!
This morning we built a snowman that was already leaning after an hour. I'll have to be sure to take another picture in another hour! Scott and Jake left for Phoenix about 8:30 a.m. (with the key to our casita in his pocket...). I think we girls will go to a movie this morning (The Princess and the Frog) and just hang out the rest of the day. Carolyn seems to be wanting to lay low today..she's complaining of a sore throat and Elyse is always happy to just stay home.
The sun is shining now and the snow is dripping away...the red rocks are peeking through reminding us that we're still in Sedona. The mountains are still beautifully covered and have a haze of clouds hovering over to the north. Guess it's time to get out of my robe and get dressed for the day.
