Sesame Street was my very favorite show on TV when I was a kid. I watched it every day and I swear that is how I learned to read. I enjoyed watching it again when my girls were little and every now and then, I still watch it if I can. I have to say, I miss "the old days" of Bert and Ernie... Super Grover, Oscar and the very rare appearance of Kermit the Frog doing his News Flash. So, since Sesame Street was celebrating 40 years on television this year, I thought I would join in the celebration and make it the theme for my 40th birthday.
Thank you thank you thank you to everyone who
came over to celebrate Sesame Street style last night - My friend made me a wonderful cake shaped like the Sesame Street sign...cupcakes that looked like the characters: Cookie Monster, Oscar, Big Bird, Bert and Ernie, and of course, Elmo. We had a Count von Count Count the M&M's in the jar contest - and someone guessed it exactly correct! (467) We played "Pin the Nose on Bert" (won by my sister, I believe). We had a "where is Big Bird hiding" game....Mr. Hooper's Store/Beverage station....It was all great fun. OH! And best of all, a pinata. I had a great time and hope all who stopped over had a fun time as well. THANK YOU to all who made it happen and THANK you to everyone for celebrating with me. I am very blessed.
