For the past several weeks...no...months....every other statement from Elyse's mouth has been "Mom, for my birthday....." She is very excited to turn 8 in two weeks, and last night she wanted to have a "family" celebration: pork chops for dinner and then find all the Gold Canyon Candles that have two wicks...light four of them so she could blow out eight candles. I think you really have to hear Elyse's excitement in all this...I just smile and say, "Sure Boo-Boo! Whatever you want!" So she found suitable candles (a couple with just one wick) lined them up, lighted (lit?) them, made several wishes and blew them out. We were instructed to not sing. I have to admit, the house the smelled really good when she was done!
