We are spending the week at Bison Ranch Resort in Overgaard, AZ. We love getting out of the desert for a bit and the White Mountains are one of our favorite spots to be. We drove up on Saturday afternoon and were thrilled to see the temperature go from 95 (rather cool in PHX this time of year) to 48. I was so happy to need a sweatshirt. Then I thought about what I had packed and I realized I may have to wrestle Scott for the one pair of sweatpants we have with us! I am glad we brought some snuggly blankets!
We got settled in on Saturday and did a bit of exploring around the resort. The girls have their bikes so they can ride around the property a bit. I had hoped Scooter and I could rent bikes while here, but it doesn't look promising. Sunday we decided to stay close to home and we spent the day in the pool (hot tub) and I read my book (I finally finished "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest). I have a nice sunburn to show for it. I didn't realize that one hour outside in this altitude would result in that color!
Today the girls got on their bikes and rode two miles to one of our favorite picnic spots. Obviously, they had different opinions of such a feat! I rode back with Carolyn and have a feeling I am going to be a bit sore tomorrow!
