Happy Fourth of July!

The Fourth of July was an odd day in Phoenix: it was COLD and RAINY  and we thought it was WONDERFUL. 

The day began with Carolyn in the pool. The rain began and she enjoyed being outside in that.  Thankfully there was no lightning.

Elyse geared up and went out on her roller blades.

   

The girls thought we should have a picnic, so I left them in charge of it. They packed the usual picnic stuff and wanted to go to the nearby library campus.  We were sure there were picnic tables there.  We pulled up (in the rain) and discovered there are no tables there - only benches.  So we went to Plan B.

Plan A: 
Looking for a table at the City Hall Campus.  No luck.

Plan B was Roundtree Ranch Park just down the street from our house.  We drove by and realized somoene else was using the only picnic table.  On to Plan C!

We went to the Dog Park and there was nobody there!  So we unpacked our lunch, set up and had a very lovely lunch while enjoying the light rain that was falling.  Elyse put her head under the spout and got a good soaking....
