We have been to Pinetop - Lakeside many times and Woodland Park is one our "go-to" places. We packed up a picnic, the dogs, and the bikes and went on our first outing since Scooter arrived. No sooner did we arrive, unpack, finish our lunch and it started raining. Thankfully we also packed playing cards, so we waitied out the rain and played Phase 10. All the way to Phase 8...and the rain finally let up.
We went down by the lake and I said, "Hey, let's go down by the water and see what the dogs do." Great idea! Coco quickly took off from Elyse's hold and was in the water going after the one duck that was swimming. Thankfully we could control Annie a bit better, but it took a lot of convinicing to get Coco out of the water as she dragged her leash and a (empty) poop bag behind her. This whole ordeal surprised us because Coco never goes in our pool and she is not a bird chaser. I think the zero entry lake made her more confident in her insticts; needless to say, Elyse was the one chosen to slug through the mud to get Coco and she got really muddy. I thought we'd get to throw away the NDSU shorts she was wearing, but alas, they washed up just fine.
Carolyn was NOT happy that her Skeletoes got all dirty. |
Elyse was muddy. Look at those feet! |
We got home and had a fire that evening. We have been enjoying a fire almost every evening, actually. Carolyn toasted a marshmallow to perfection.
