November 12th was Scooter's 47th Birthday. We had found the perfect place to go to dinner to celebrate this momentous occasion: a restaurant called 'Scott 47'. The downside: it is in Tucson. Well Minot State University happened to be playing -- of all things -- hockey -- against the U of A that weekend and for a very brief moment, we thought of making a weekend trek to Tucson to fit it all in. A bad night's sleep and some bits of exhaustion got the better of us and we stayed home instead. We girls made Scooter his favorite carrot cake and had a nice family dinner on the patio. The girls managed to get 47 candles on a pan of brownies (the cake was not nearly big enough!) and most of them were covered in wax before it made its way to the patio. We still ate them.
