It is no secret that Elyse does not enjoy reading. At the beginning of the school year I was visiting with a 3rd grade teacher who was reading this book to her class and it intrigued me. Elyse and I decided to read it together - she had her copy, I had mine. We would spend some time every evening before bed reading our books together. She would get ahead of me and make a comment....which I'd have to shush her about....we'd discuss the story and what was happening...what we thought might happen next. It was a fun time. The book was wonderful. I highly recommend it.
After she'd done her project on the book, I found that ChildsPlay in Tempe was doing "The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane" as a stage play! I finally got around to buying tickets and Elyse and I had a date to see it over Veterans' Day weekend. It was very well done and we both enjoyed the show as much as we enjoyed the book.
