After a longer than three hour flight from PHX to Atlanta, we were ready for the last short leg on to Asheville. We got through the Atlanta airport with no issues...rode the train to the other concourse etc. We knew our flight was delayed an hour, so we had plenty of time. We sat at the gate and have really appreciated the kindness and helpfulness of the Delta Airlines staff.: organizing our seats to be together, answering questions (how much longer until we leave?!). I was a dedicated NWA flier...Delta is keeping up with the service and all that NWA had to offer. We sat at the gate...and sat...and sat...and ran around...and sat...used the bathroom...had a snack...and sat and waited more. Our flight was delayed nearly two hours and finally at 1:30 a.m. we arrived in Asheville. Scott was very happy to see us. I was very happy to see him so he could take over parenting duties for awhile and we could all get some sleep in a bed.
The girls are great travelers and were patient and wonderful the whole way. They were very happy to be HERE and DONE with the day of traveling though. Elyse was asleep on the plane in Atlanta before we took off. Carolyn's allergies (we hope that's what it is) were bothering her a bit but she managed....and Mom just had to referee. More tomorrow from beautiful Asheville, NC.
