Elyse was not happy with Annie this morning when Carolyn discovered Annie's attack on her unicorn, Brooke. Brooke suffered a major wound to the flank and abdomen and innards were strewn about the backyard. There was no saving the innards, but we could save Brooke. The wound was rather dirty and required some cleaning as well. We're pretty sure Brooke put up a good fight with our Annie, but alas, the dog's strong teeth proved to be too much for our sweet, gentle unicorn.
We took Brooke to the Build-a-Bear Vet tonight and were relieved to know that they had a skilled "surgeon" on call (and wasn't busy). Brooke was a real trooper through the procedure. Innards were replaced in excess and had to be resized, but Brooke managed to keep her unicorn spirit high through the whole ordeal. Elyse brought Brooke home with instructions to better supervise her pets and to keep them safe from the dog's deathly grip.
