Pinetop - Day 3

Anot
her day, another hike! Can't complain about that one - unless, of course, your name is Elyse! She admits she is more of a climber - like mountain goat climbing like we did in Sedona. She is just not much for this walking thing. She did, however, do better today. We hiked the Country Club Trail and were expecting to have a really great view of the area from the top of the mountain we climbed...but....there were trees in the way. It was still nice.

Carolyn and I went to a "rodeo" down the road this afternoon. She thoroughly enjoyed the barrel racing and pole bending. I have to admit, it was a nice way to spend an hour and it wasn't too hot. There were some little girls riding big horses! Carolyn wants to go riding in a very bad way. We're working on it.

Tonight we grilled chicken and had dinner on the patio - something we're really enjoying while in the high country. Come to think of it, Scooter and I had breakfast out there this morning too! I have finished two books ("I'm So Glad We Had This Time Together" by Carol Burnett and "Have a Little Faith" by Mitch Albom). I started "Last Song" by Nicholas Sparks today and am bummed I left Harry Potter #5 at home. There are a couple books here in the condo - might have to look more closely. Scott is barreling through "The Lost Symbol" by Dan Brown. He is really enjoying it.

Fire is ready: time for s'mores!
