I'm a Lumberjack....

Today I was reminded of a Monty Python song..."I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK. I sleep all night and I work all day!"

So...if the girls want to have a fire, we need wood. There is a pile of wood outside our cabin, but it needs to be chopped into wood-burning-stove-sized-pieces.  There is also an axe next to the pile of said wood.  Let the chopping begin.  Now, I was comparing axe swinging to bat swinging and if any of you know me at all, you know that my bat-to-ball connection is poor to fairly non-existent.  Well, my axe-to-log connection is not a lot better, but it did improve throughout my woodchopping adventure.  We had a nice fire tonight and I learned how well a nice Moscato wine pairs with a s'more.

Swing....and a miss...or a split.
It was a crapshoot with every swing.

Elyse gives it a whack....
Sometimes we found it easier if we got the axe wedged
in the wood and then whacked the wood around.

Carolyn did pretty well.

We need to work on that grip.
