March 4 - Good Families Don't

Good Families Don't was Elyse's pick for today (it's Read Across America...we're going to do a book every day in the month of March!). We'd like to thank the Luciak for contributing this book to our library many years ago when Carolyn was very small. It is written by Canada's own Robert Munsch. Good Families Don't is about a fart. The fart - made by the little girl in the story - takes over the entire family and when the police are called, they say (my favorite line in the whole book): "Don't be ridiculous. Good Canadians do not have farts. What would the Americans say?" The fart is eventually chased out of the house by a good smelling rose from Mom's garden. It's a must read. Elyse wants to read it to her 1st grade class. What do you parents think?!
