May 2 - It's been awhile!

It's been awhile, alright! How can so much happen in such a short time? Here are the highlights of the past couple of weeks:

Elyse lost another tooth. It just popped out in school one day. I told her now she won't look like a little girl anymore. I find that is the biggest change in kids: they lose those teeth and are all grown up in no time. The sad thing is, we just found the gold coin from the last tooth...it isn't such a novel thing to Elyse I guess.

Annie
, the new dog, continues to make her way into our hearts. She almost found her way OUT of my heart and the family last week, but that seems to have passed. She still barks at her reflection in the pool, but she is doing GREAT at house training and we haven't (knock on wood) had an accident in many days. She is good for waking up the girls in the morning - the only time she goes upstairs - and they wake up far more cheerful for Annie than they do for Mom! So that's the only reason she is allowed upstairs.

Coco, the dog, just got home from the groomer today, complete with cute little bows in her hair. I am amazed the groomer could do that with a shaved dog, but she was amazing. The bows lasted for the drive home and then Annie was bugging her and they got scratched off. I tried to get a picture of them...but it was hard to capture. Carolyn was most excited about the bows in her hair. Next time we swear she'll come home with painted nails. I am happy to report that Coco has lost 8 pounds. She'd be down more if she wouldn't get into her dog food without permission!

We went to see Colin Mocherie and Brad Sherwood (Whose Line is it Anyway?) last night. It was great fun. The girls enjoyed the show and were among the youngest audience members. I appreciate that Brad and Colin keep the show kind of clean...and that much goes over the heads of the girls. Elyse, however, kept Colin on his toes with her suggestion of "Wine Day" for a French Holiday...and she had a joke all set to tell if she were to get on stage with them. They even referenced Elyse in the end song. Scott was beyond excited to have gotten up on stage in the first set - just filling in word in a sketch. Give the guy a microphone and there's no stopping him. The evening was great fun and we'd all see them again any time we have the chance.

Mom? Zona? What have I been up to? The usual....work, taking kids here and there, walking/running with the dogs in the mornings...and getting ready to celebrate my 40th birthday. If you're reading this, consider yourself invited to the party (wear your favorite Sesame Street shirt) on May 14.
