Merry Christmas!

Christmas with the Magnusons once again! We were very happy to go to Tucson for Christmas again this year. The girls and I drove down on Thursday the 23rd and returned Sunday the 26th. We had a very fun Christmas Eve with church, going to the party at Julie's, gumbo for dinner, towel snapping during dish washing, a skit and finally, opening gifts; then staying up late playing with said gifts and chatting.

Christmas Day brought more of the Allmaras family, more fun and games and more food. I can't remember who commented, "I have never ever in my life eaten Christmas Dinner outside!" It was a gorgeous day (almost every day is gorgeous in Arizona this time of year!) and we enjoyed being outside playing the annual ping pong tournament and a bean bag tournament. I know I was out after the first round in both, so I don't even know who won!

We came back to PHX on Sunday the 26th. We love that we get to enjoy a little extra Christmas when we get back home, reveling in our own quiet time with just the four of us gathered around our tree (with the dogs banished to the backyard for extra calm). The girls were very excited to discover that Santa had brought presents to our home (he leaves a few in Tucson with our stockings) and that there were gifts from extended family as well. Elyse was very excited to discover the mystery package in the freezer was for her: the first installment of her requested "year supply of bacon". She is anxiously waiting for Thursday when DAD will be home in the morning to cook it for her; Mom has never cooked bacon and does not care to learn. Carolyn has been relaxing in her new chair while watching the first season of "Modern Family". Everyone is still enjoying Winter Break...can't believe we are in our second week of break and Monday takes us back to work again.
