Good bye and hello

It was a cold morning when I left 325 1st Avenue South on Saturday the 21st. There is not a lot of snow on the ground in New Rockford or on the way to Bismarck so it was unusual to see the prairie grass in January. There is something beautiful about The Homeland in the winter...a
different view....and I always feel anything is an improvement over the view in Phoenix. I wish I had captured the sunrise the day we drove to Bismarck - it was gorgeous (and nearly 8:30 before the sun was up....). For those of you who have never been to North Dakota, it really is a beautiful state - even moreso in the summer when the grass and trees are green...when the wheat is a ripe amber color... I started reading a book about a girl who grew up in North Dakota and she said, "The best view of North Dakota is in your rear view mirror." I dare to differ. I thoroughly enjoy the view through my camera or a windshield...or standing outside breathing that clean cold air. North Dakota has it's own beauty and I encourage you to seek it out and enjoy the place for awhile.

Thank you, Dennis, for lending me a warm jacket for the week. I was proud to wear it!

I arrived in Mesa and still felt cold! There is nothing like walking through the airport, hearing, "MOM!" in a very excited voice and having your child run into your arms. Better yet was having the strength to lift her up! Elyse was happy to see me -- and so was Carolyn. It is good to be home.
