Fools Hollow

After yesterday's adventure on Sunrise Mountain, a huge storm and a nearly two hour power outage, we weren't sure how much more we were able to take!  But, we went to another of our favorite places:  Fools Hollow Recreation Area.  We drove around looking at the campsites and campers and tents...and made a family decision that after last night's no power debacle,  a cabin is more our style.  This is as rough (no dishwasher) as we like it.

We had our usual picnic and then ventured down to the lake. For some reason, the girls were hesitant to get in the water...but eventually Carolyn jumped in. Elyse was supposed to jump at the same time, but chickened out. Eventually Mom had to get in the water with Carolyn and I decided I am definitely a pool girl. I don't care for lake swimming...but it was a warm day and the water felt good. Elyse got in eventually....

Thank heavens for noodles!

Elyse got in when she saw another girl using a paddle board.  I knew she'd catch on to it if she worked up the nerve to ask if she could try!  I think it looks like a lot of fun.
