We seem to start school earlier and earlier every year. This year our first official day was Wednesday, August 7. Which meant I was actually at work on August 1. Jeepers! This is a year of many firsts:
1. This is the first year the girls will not have me for a teacher.
2. This is the first year -- in 20 years of teaching - that I have not taught choir.
3. This is the first year I did not walk the girls to their classrooms.
4. This is the first year the girls did not allow me to take a picture of them with their teacher on the first day of school.
