Today was pajama day at school for Carolyn and her kindergarten buddy class. They got to take blankets, snacks, pillows and lots of books to read together. SO in the true spirit and showing full support of my child's adventures at school, I wore my pajamas too! Last hour of the day was reading time so I popped over to the kindergarten class room where they were all meeting...and my kid wasn't there! She was called off to some other business so I sat down and read with her kindergarten buddy. I read her Sam and the Firefly. I explained to the buddy that I used to read this book to Carolyn all the time when she was a little girl...some of that sentimentality is just lost on other people! ANYWAY, we read Sam and the Firefly which is about Sam the mosquito and Gus the Firefly. Gus writes words all over using his light and makes some inappropriate words: like changing "hot" to "cold" with the "hot dogs".....that makes the hot dog man mad and he catches Gus in a jar, takes him out to the wilderness, his truck stops on the railroad tracks and Gus saves the day by making a GOOD word: STOP so the train stops before hitting the truck. Love a happy ending.
Elyse is campaigning for a pajama day in 1st grade. And when they have it, I'll be there, in my jammies right along side her.
Oh, how I miss pajama day! I wonder if I can convince the IMT department that we need a day like that.... hmmm...
