This is my nephew - and one of my favorite godchildren - Jake. Jake moved to Peoria when he was a freshman and he threw himself into high school life at RSK. From there he went on to Embry Riddle, NAU and now UofA. He spent a lot of time with my girls when they were little and he has a very special bond with Elyse. They are two peas in a pod.
I admire Jake's spirit of adventure and exploration, always willing to something new (although he took awhile to try new veggies....) or learn a new skill. His latest adventure is a trek to Nepal, which happens to coincide with one of my favorite niece's wedding. Jake is leaving today for LA, then flying to China (a 14 hour flight) where he will enjoy a 15 hour layover and then a 'short' four hour flight to Katmandu where he will connect with Katie and Avi to partake in their wedding festivities. Safe travels, Jake!
