We had a last minute offer to go to Flagstaff over Spring Break and we got all over it. We stayed just a few days, but it was very nice to see different scenery and new walls - and to enjoy cool weather. We didn't do much in Flagstaff -- Scooter and I explored downtown and enjoyed a wonderful Vegan lunch. I had to chuckle to myself when I looked at the menu and thought, "hmm....so I can't add chicken to that can I?!" Scooter came home on Sunday and the girls and I stayed until Tuesday. We enjoyed just laying (lying?) around all day doing absolutely nothing. We girls thought briefly about going to the Grand Canyon - the girls have never been there. I mentioned it on Sunday evening and not 10 seconds later Carolyn said, "Mom, I don't feel good." She's been sick all week, poor kid. I thought she was just trying to get out of a field trip...but no....she's really a hurting unit this week.
Two of my favorite nephews are currently living in Flagstaff and we got to have dinner with them. Ted is a freshman at NAU and Jake is working with AmeriCorp out of Flagstaff. It was a fun evening. Ted had two sleepovers with us and enjoyed some 'home cooking'. Elyse helped him study for his German test; that was interesting. Ted credited his success on his test to good sleep, good food and an excellent study buddy.
