Carolyn hit a landmark this year with the Phoenix Children's Chorus: she has completed five years with the group. Five down, five to go....it really is a fabulous organization and we have met some great people and have had some really neat experiences over the years. We look forward to even more in the coming years.
The Spring Concert was held at the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Phoenix this year. Other than downtown parking, the whole experience was really cool. The Orpheum is an old theatre - very classic with the decor and all that. The girls and I enjoy checking out bathrooms in places. This one was way cool! Oh, and a usual, the concert was fabulous.

Carolyn's in there somewhere... second row... to the right of the girl with long dark hair. |
The touring choirs will spend a couple of weeks doing final preparation for this year's tour to Oregon. Carolyn's choir will participate in PICC (Pacific International Children's Choir) Fest and the prestigious Oregon Bach Festival. Both festivals are pretty big deals, so I'm told. I'm excited for Carolyn to get to experience the University of Oregon campus and for her to work with Bob Chilcott.

Back when I sang in choir we played cards to kill time... now kids pull out their phones, take pictures and see who can do better on which games. All bonding....just in a different way. |
