Peoria Pioneer Days 5K - April 5, 2014

Some people aspire to run marathons...half marathons...I do not care to run any more than 3.1 miles.  5K. That's just enough for me - and since July 4, 2013, I have run three 5K's. This is quite an accomplishment for me because I am, admittedly, not a runner. I kind of enjoy running when I'm done doing it, but I will be honest: most of the time, while I'm running, I find it a little unpleasant.  Well, this race in April was particularly uncomfortable. My knee had been bothering me for quite awhile, so that led to hip pain...it just wasn't a pleasant run...but I had promised my friend, Renee, that we would do it. So we ran.  And to make it a really fun day: we both got medals.  We were so excited to hear our names called - we both placed third in our age groups. Yes. There were more than three people in my age group;  there were five

This is us at the starting line.....

We were so proud of ourselves!
We earned medals!
