Carolyn's Month of June

June flew by with a flurry of summer school, orthodontist appointments and general running around, which seemed to be non-stop. Before I knew it, it was time to send Carolyn off to Heber, AZ for Leadership Camp.  She and her 'cabinet' of StuCo officers attended a weekend camp in northern AZ. She reported that it was fun other than the one girl in her cabin who would not stop talking (no, it was not Carolyn).  She got home Monday afternoon, went to the ortho, said she'd been doing great with her expander (inserted in early June) and we are ready to get braces on her top teeth!  We are excited - can you believe it - we are excited about braces!  We have been seeing this wonderful ortho for a couple of years and he has patiently said several times, "Come back in six months for a check and we'll see if she's lost any more teeth."  Carolyn lost a ton of teeth in the last couple of months so on July 14, she will get her braces on.  SO! Recap!  She went to Heber on a Saturday morning, returned Monday afternoon at 4:00, saw the ortho at 4:30 and on Tuesday morning Scooter dropped her at Sky Harbor airport at 6:30 a.m. to head to Oregon with PCC.  She just got home at midnight last night.  I'm not sure if it feels like she was never gone or if it feels like she hasn't come back. Both girls are plugged into headphones in their own rooms or spaces. I don't see them and I don't hear them.  Ah...silence! Carolyn had a GREAT time and loved the University of Oregon. They spent a week on the campus participating in the PICC (Pacific International Children's Choir) Fest and the Oregon Bach Festival. Then they drove down the coast, did some hiking, some sand boarding and got home last night.  She enjoyed working with Bob Chilcott and seeing the Canadian Brass (have I mentioned I'm quite jealous!?). She brought me this one requested item:

And she brought back some Oregon swag and got to see the entire campus.  Maybe instead of a Tar Heel I'll have a Duck?!  Next year:  Buenos Aires!
