I don't know the last time I (Zona) have travelled alone. I got to get on a plane alone and come to North Dakota to visit my parents alone. I have to admit, it feels a bit odd to enjoy the adult company of my parents alone and to go to bed alone. I will enjoy my time alone, and I will miss my family.
I landed in God's country last night, shivered, took my dad's jacket from him, enjoyed dinner with the parents and promptly went to Happy Harry's (Bottle Shop) to stock up on the alcohol I will surely need to get through the week! I think I hear that mango margarita calling me now! I marveled at all the stars in the clear sky last night - I have to make a point of going out to the farm some night this week to look at them some more - it was hard to do while driving...all that dodging of deer and other critters...and then the constant "*#*$&% don't you think 65 is fast enough?" from my dad.
I was up not so early this morning - we all agreed that bed was warm and it just felt good to stay there rather late today. Went for my usual walk/run and then went out to the garden to get corn from my dad's garden. Bountiful Baskets beware! My dad has a wonderful garden with fresh corn, carrots, cucumbers, and onions...melons and squash are in the making...potatoes were there too. I am making sausage with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes for dinner (oops - I'm in ND - it's supper): my favorite come home meal. Should go well with the mango margarita?!
My mom had "an episode", as we call them, today...passed out at lunch (in ND speak: dinner...) and is spending the night in the hospital. All is well though and all tests came back clear. I just wish we could explain those "episodes"...what causes them...can we prevent them....I am thankful my brother, Garth, was here too. I am glad all is "well" with Mother though and she is resting comfortably. Evidently this is nothing new, but it is shocking to witness. I have appreciated everyone's kind words and help at work. THANK YOU.
Better get to it - I just heard, "Well are we going to have some @#*$& supper?" For those of you who've never met my dad...well, just use your imagination. I am quoting him...and now I hear pots clanging in the kitchen.
BTW: temp last night: 55. : ) LOVE IT.
Zona I am glad to hear that you are enjoying your alone time. I often do the same :) Love all of the fresh veggies!! Give my love to your parents and know that friends in AZ are thinking and praying for their health. Love to you! Take it easy.
