FABULOUS Four Seasons - Day 1

It was a long time getting here, but we are here and we were quickly reminded of why we love the Fabulous Four Seasons: beautiful resort, cool weather, great beds/pillows, and service beyond all expectations.
We had had an incredibly busy week - the final week of school, company from The Homeland, finishing up school stuff, getting ready for Summer School, rehearsals and PCC's final concerts of the year. Whew! The girls sang at the Ikeda Theatre at the Mesa Arts Center on Sunday afternoon and as soon as we could sign them out and regroup, we were on the open (except for those small construction zones...) road heading west to Carlsbad, CA.
Six hours later we arrived at the Four Seasons (12:30 a.m.) and were greeted by the usual cheerful staff who quickly summoned Fernando to help us unload the car. It was very welcomed help and we had our very full car completely empty in no time. We fell into bed and my final words for the night were, "I am not a fan of soft beds but man I love this bed and these pillows! I wish I had this duvet on my bed at home...." I couldn't wait to wake up in the morning and wear my Four Seasons robe. We had ordered groceries from Von's on-line and they were delivered and put away before we arrived. What a great feeling to know I didn't have to run to the store in the morning for cream for my coffee!
Monday was a sleep in day and we had declared it "resort day" so we would not be going anywhere too far. Scooter had coffee made and we all enjoyed breakfast together on our patio.
After breakfast we explored and rediscovered the resort. We were here a couple years ago so it is nice to kind of already know our way around. We definitely feel at home!
Just like at home, real life creeps up and I had to face the reality of completing my on-line traffic school. Sigh. Yes, my life of speeding crime caught up with me and I got a ticket early in May. So while the rest of the family was enjoying time at the pool, I was socked away completing my four hours of on-line traffic school. It was SLICK and it really did go quickly. Scott convinced me to take a break in the middle and enjoy some time in the hot tub. As luck would have it, it was also during that time that the free mojitos were delivered poolside! I had traffic school completed before dinner and the rest of the evening was free to enjoy family game night. NOW vacation can begin.
