So today was our first day to explore The Strip. I am grateful for Scott's knowledge of the area (he lived her almost 20 years ago and much has changed...) and confidence in driving here. I never have any sense of direction in Las Vegas - but I have to say I am getting better. Scott has said many times that he'd move back here in a heartbeat and I have made it clear that he'd be moving alone. We had his former ambulance partner over for dinner tonight and they had such fun remenicing about the old days... but before we had dinner, we spent the day walking and exploring The Strip.
First stop: Caesar's Palace. The moving statues were not working, so we had to provide our own entertainment. I was impressed that my girls recognized a lot of the statues and had read about them somewhere in school....Elyse begged to go into one of the magnet shops. I guess she's sort of llike me that way - she just likes to look at stuff and check it all out. She was in a very posing mood today!
Second Stop: The Mirage. We walked (quickly) through the casinos and shops and got outside as much as we could. I had forgotten how smokey the casinos are. Ick. I love how willing everyone walking down the street is to take a picture (and we do the same for them) and how "traffic" on the sidewalk pauses for the pictures to be taken.
